My mother used to take me to church - my father wouldn't budge, and long before i knew the latin mass, she placed a rosary in my hands and told me how to pray. Something happens to a 7 year old who prays repitiously during mass - there are no rational obstacles to overcome; the 'soil' is prepared. I grew up being an altar boy, attended catholic high school in the chicago area and proceeded to college during the turbulent 60's. I left the 'fold' so to speak like a wandering sheep; i took up eastern mysticism, studied some yoga, wandered into occult and studied astrology. I allowed the marxist influence of university professors to sway my perception that the 'church' was the problem for man's social ills. But at the ripe age of 29, i reached out to recover the St. Joseph bible and the Holy Spirit saw the prodigal returning and gifted me with that regeneration that John talks of in John 7: 38
Returning to the Roman church, i hardly recognized her; Vatican 2 changes left me wanting for more and i continued on into Orthodoxy. I currently continue to study theology at the graduate level and anticipate forming an orthodox-catholic mission........and i must say, may God bless this message board and the ICAN churches for keeping the faith...
