|
|
Greetings Everyone in the name of Christ!
I am Fr. Michael Smith. Our parish community is going to be setting up the sanctuary area in our worship facility. However we are not able financially at this time to purchase a manufactured altar at this time. We will have to build it ourselves. Do any of you know or have instructions on how to build an altar, that we can go by(Blueprints etc.)? Or do you know of any company that is reasonable in price that we could use?
Also any decoration ideas? That limits cost?
In Christ!
Fr.Mike |

Form generally follows function. Typically wood is good contruction material and a stone mason generally will donate a thin marble top that you can use and affix to the top of the wood altar.
The wood can be either naturally stained or painted white enamel. Carved decorative pattern for the trim around the top can generally be purchased inexpensively from Home Depot or Menards, and nailed with finishing nails or good wood glue to the edges of the top. _________________ Bishop Andre' Jhohn-William Queen, SCR
