BpAndre,
How does one join ICAN? I mean, is one catechized into the church if they already profess the fullness of faith? Can an Orthodox Christian like myself commune in your church, following the protocol of confession first? I realize there are none in my area, but i will be visiting my 'original' home ( Chicago) this fall and would like to pray the liturgy or mass with an ICAN parish.... Joe |

Hello Joe,
Keep in mind that the acronym "ICAN" is a generic term we use to identify the communion as a whole, and is not the proper name or acronym for any one church. To answer your question regarding communal participation, an Eastern Orthodox member of the faithfull may certainly approach and be received at the communion rail, as you profess a belief in the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist.
Eucharistic communion is possible for members of the following communions, in accordnce with our guidelines. The faithful of these communions are instructed also to follow the instructions and guidelines of thier own communions. The church communions are:
Roman Catholic
The Eastern Orthodox Churches
The Oriental Orthodox Churches
The Armenian Church
The Syriac (Jacobite) Orthodox Church of Antioch _________________ _______________________________
